CSU Commissioning Manager – AZ
Our client is seeking CSU Commissioning Managers to support large-scale semiconductor and advanced technology project in Chandler, Arizona. This role will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and turnover of commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring facility systems and infrastructure are safely brought online and fully operational.
Job Responsibilities:
Commissioning Strategy & Planning
- Develop commissioning execution plans, startup strategies, and system turnover processes.
- Define commissioning scope and integrate activities into overall project execution plans.
- Establish phased turnover and cleanroom readiness plans to support tool installation.
Scheduling & Project Integration
- Coordinate with project controls and construction teams to align commissioning activities with project schedules.
- Identify and manage commissioning system dependencies and startup sequencing.
- Track readiness milestones and turnover gates to support project completion objectives.
Commissioning Execution & Start-Up
- Lead system commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.
- Oversee development and execution of commissioning procedures, test plans, and validation protocols.
- Troubleshoot system deficiencies and drive resolution through startup and operational readiness phases.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Interface directly with clients, engineering, construction, and operations teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to project leadership.
- Ensure alignment on commissioning objectives, acceptance criteria, and turnover requirements.
System Turnover & Operational Readiness
- Drive system completion, turnover documentation, and handover to operations.
- Support manufacturing readiness and integration of process tools.
- Assist with facility ramp-up and stabilization efforts.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Complete system scoping activities and support development of RASCI matrices.
- Review commissioning metrics, performance data, and project trackers.
- Identify trends and implement improvements to commissioning processes and project execution.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of engineering experience or 20 years of experience in high-tech construction, mission-critical facilities, or commissioning environments.
- Experience leading commissioning activities on semiconductor or advanced manufacturing projects.
- Background in system completion, startup planning, and turnover management.
- Experience working within large EPC project environments.
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership experience managing commissioning and startup teams.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor fab systems, including HVAC, process utilities, electrical, controls, and cleanroom environments.
- Knowledge of commissioning methodologies, startup planning, and integrated scheduling.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of semiconductor industry commissioning standards and best practices.
Familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines and industry standards.
Experience with system completion software, commissioning management tools, and project controls processes.
Leadership experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
Understanding of cleanroom operations and facility operational readiness requirements.

- Combination of office, field, construction, and cleanroom environments.
- Part-time telework available in accordance with company policy.
- Travel may be required based on project needs.
- PPE required when working in active construction and operational areas
