Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support project teams by integrating, analyzing, and transforming large volumes of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning data into actionable insights. This position will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the full project lifecycle, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate performance metrics, predictive analyses, and reporting tools.

Role Context

This role sits within offshore platform projects in the Netherlands, covering activities from engineering design through construction, assembly and commissioning. The working environment is closely aligned to complex energy and infrastructure delivery, where progress, quality, safety and operational readiness must be tracked across multiple project phases. This position will support decision-making across project management, site supervision, procurement, quality and related delivery functions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Integration & Management

  • Consolidate and manage project data from multiple systems, including:

    • AVEVA E3D and AVEVA Diagrams

    • Primavera P6

    • Manufacturing and construction control systems

    • Supply chain management platforms

    • Commissioning systems

    • Petrobras enterprise applications

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, traceability, and governance across all project data sources.

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports covering:

    • Schedule and progress tracking

    • Procurement and material management

    • Construction and assembly progress

    • Commissioning readiness

    • Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) metrics

    • Quality performance indicators

Advanced Analytics

  • Perform trend analysis and statistical assessments to identify:

    • Schedule risks

    • Resource constraints

    • Productivity trends

    • Potential cost overruns

    • Quality and operational issues

  • Develop predictive models and early warning indicators to support proactive project management.

Automation & Data Processing

  • Automate data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes.

  • Integrate information from multiple databases, web applications, APIs, and operational systems.

  • Reduce manual reporting efforts through the implementation of efficient data workflows.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Present findings and recommendations to multidisciplinary teams, including:

    • Project Management

    • Engineering

    • Procurement

    • Construction

    • Commissioning

    • Quality and HSE teams

    • Client representatives

  • Translate complex datasets into clear and actionable business insights.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Specialist, or similar role within industrial or EPC project environments.

  • Experience working with large-scale engineering, construction, offshore, oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes.

  • Experience extracting and integrating data from databases, enterprise systems, and APIs.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong data visualization and reporting capabilities.

  • Experience with Enterprise Information Management (EIM) environments.

  • Familiarity with Petrobras systems and data structures.

  • Knowledge of offshore platform, FPSO, or oil and gas project lifecycles.

  • Experience working within Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) projects.

  • Understanding of project controls, planning, procurement, QA/QC, and commissioning processes.
