About the Role
We are seeking for a Health and Safety Advisor specializing in decommissioning projects for an oil and gas operator based Perth WA on a 12-months’ contract.
This is a Monday-Friday, 45 hours a week role.
You’ll provide HSE leadership, assurance and practical safety support across decommissioning projects. Working closely with project teams, contractors and asset leadership, you will act as a trusted HSE Subject Matter Expert, ensuring the safe planning and execution of activities across offshore and onshore operations, including marine and vessel activities, subsea infrastructure, logistics, waste management and disposal.
Responsibilities:
- Provide HSE guidance and support across the full decommissioning project lifecycle, from planning through to execution and close-out.
- Partner with project teams, contractors and leadership to drive strong safety performance and compliance.
- Develop and deliver risk-based assurance activities, including site inspections, contractor assurance and critical control verification.
- Support key risk management processes such as HAZIDs, HIRAs, Safety in Design reviews, SIMOPS and ALARP assessments.
- Advise on decommissioning-related hazards including marine operations, subsea activities, lifting operations, hazardous materials, waste management and demolition works.
- Lead or support incident investigations, event reporting, lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor safety performance trends and provide practical recommendations to improve operational and process safety outcomes.
Skills/Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of HSE experience within the energy sector or other high-hazard industries.
- Degree-qualified in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience in decommissioning, offshore operations, subsea infrastructure, marine/vessel activities, or project delivery environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to work independently, manage changing priorities and travel to operational sites when required
