Divisional QC / QA Manager

Duration: 12 months (contract to perm)
Location: Odessa, TX
Rotation: 5/40 (with possibility to work more hours).
Allowance: Truck allowance or company vehicle.

Position Overview

This position is focused on leading the implementation and execution of project quality management systems within a heavy industrial environment. The role will provide technical quality leadership across inspection, testing, auditing, code compliance and project quality assurance activities. This opportunity is suited to a technically strong quality professional with proven experience supporting EPC delivery in the midstream, petrochemical or energy sectors. The role requires regular travel to project sites in the permian.

Role Context

This opportunity sits within a company delivering turnkey engineering, general construction and electrical services for heavy industrial industries nationwide. The role supports projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical and energy sectors, with a strong emphasis on field-based quality leadership, code compliance, fabrication knowledge and site execution. The working environment includes remote project locations, active jobsites and laydown yards, with close collaboration across operations, engineering, inspection and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of project quality management systems and ensure alignment with applicable construction codes, specifications and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance for inspection, surveillance, testing and broader quality service activities across assigned projects.
  • Supervise quality personnel and support effective delivery of audit, inspection and testing activities in accordance with the project quality programme.
  • Coordinate procedure qualifications, welder certifications and associated documentation with relevant external bodies where required.
  • Deliver training to site personnel on construction and quality control programme implementation.
  • Support project teams with technical quality challenges, including welding processes, procedures and evaluation of quality improvement opportunities.
  • Act as an internal or lead auditor to verify conformity of the project quality management system with project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain tracking methods for the status of quality control turnover packages and required quality documentation.
  • Work with inspection stakeholders on code-related activities and complete required quality and code documentation.
  • Promote strong communication and alignment between operations, quality and production teams to support safe and effective project execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of five years of quality management experience in a similar role within the heavy industrial oil and gas sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality management systems or equivalent quality leadership environments.
  • Previous EPC experience in the midstream, petrochemical or energy industries is required.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, ACI, AWS, ASTM and other relevant codes and standards.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification, current or previous, is preferred, with proof required where applicable.
  • Fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities in a dynamic and continuously changing work environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and welding software knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to travel, work in remote locations and carry out site-based duties including extended walking, standing and driving.
