Position Overview
This opportunity is for a Document Control Specialist supporting a portfolio of capital projects within the energy sector. The Document Control Specialist will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining structured document control processes across the full project lifecycle. This Document Control Specialist position is well suited to a technically strong professional who can build scalable frameworks, improve information accessibility, and support consistent project delivery. Role Context
This role sits within a capital projects environment supporting midstream and refining project activity. The Document Control Specialist will contribute across engineering, procurement, construction, and project management documentation, helping to bring structure and consistency to a growing project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain document control procedures, filing structures, naming conventions, and retention practices for project documentation.
Establish and manage centralised repositories for engineering, procurement, construction, and project management records.
Maintain version control, revision tracking, document registers, and status reporting across multiple active projects.
Coordinate document flow between project teams and external stakeholders, ensuring current and approved documents are accessible when needed.
Track project deliverables, correspondence, transmittals, approvals, and closeout documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Support the standardisation and continuous improvement of document workflows, review processes, and digital document management practices.
Carry out routine audits to maintain document quality, consistency, security, and compliance with company standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
5+ years of document control experience supporting engineering, construction, industrial, or energy projects.
Essential:
Experience managing electronic document management systems and project repositories.
Essential:
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Essential:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, Bluebeam, and related collaboration tools.
