Position: Drilling & Well Equipment Coordinator

Location: Qatar

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced D&W Equipment Coordinator to support Completion and Well Intervention operations by ensuring the availability, integrity, certification, and timely mobilization of critical well intervention and completion equipment. This role plays a key part in coordinating warehouse activities, equipment logistics, quality assurance, inventory management, and operational readiness across offshore and onshore operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing equipment throughout its lifecycle, from procurement acceptance and storage through deployment, maintenance, certification, return, and refurbishment, while upholding the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Warehouse Coordination

  • Coordinate warehouse activities supporting Completion and Well Intervention operations.
  • Prioritize equipment preparation, maintenance, and mobilization activities in line with drilling and intervention schedules.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of completion and intervention equipment and sub-assemblies.
  • Track and monitor critical equipment to ensure accurate location visibility at all times.
  • Prepare, inspect, and approve equipment for load-out to offshore installations and intervention operations.
  • Coordinate equipment returns, inspections, repair requirements, and replacement activities.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)

  • Conduct QA/QC acceptance inspections for all incoming equipment and materials.
  • Verify equipment dimensions, specifications, threading, documentation, and compliance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Review assembly documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Witness and perform spot-check inspections of assembly and pressure-testing activities conducted by vendors and service providers.
  • Verify functionality and pressure integrity of critical completion equipment, including:

    • Surface-Controlled Subsurface Safety Valves (SCSSSV)
    • Hydraulic Control Modules (HCM)
    • Ball Valves
    • Additional completion and intervention equipment

Completion Equipment Assembly & Testing

  • Coordinate the makeup, assembly, testing, and readiness verification of completion sub-assemblies.
  • Ensure assembly and testing activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures and industry standards.
  • Maintain sufficient stock levels of critical completion sub-assemblies to support planned operations.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout preparation and testing activities.

Logistics & Equipment Mobilization

  • Coordinate equipment movements between warehouses, offshore facilities, contractors, and service providers.
  • Support mobilization and demobilization activities for drilling, completion, and intervention operations.
  • Conduct pre-loadout inspections at contractor and vendor facilities.
  • Ensure equipment transportation activities comply with operational and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate material movements and equipment tracking within SAP and associated workflow systems.

Maintenance, Certification & Compliance

  • Ensure all service equipment remains maintained, calibrated, certified, and fit for purpose.
  • Establish and maintain certification and testing programs for pressure control equipment (PCE) and intervention equipment.
  • Coordinate inspection and testing activities including:

    • Pressure Testing
    • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
    • Thread Inspection
    • Equipment Certification Programs
  • Maintain accurate certification records and ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and industry requirements.

Operational Support

  • Support platform, rig, and offshore intervention operations through effective equipment readiness and logistics coordination.
  • Assist Well Intervention Supervisors by providing technical guidance and operational support.
  • Maintain and continuously improve action tracking systems and equipment readiness programs.
  • Ensure effective handover and communication between offshore and onshore teams regarding ongoing equipment-related activities.

SAP & Documentation Management

  • Process equipment movements and inventory transactions through SAP.
  • Raise and manage relevant work orders, service orders, and equipment movement documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment status, maintenance history, certification, and inventory levels.
  • Ensure all operational documentation is completed and filed in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in:

    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Maintenance Engineering
    • Mechanical Maintenance Technology
    • A related technical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • At least 3 years of offshore operational exposure.
  • Proven experience supporting Completion and Well Intervention operations.
  • Strong background in equipment management, warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and QA/QC processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of:

    • Completion equipment
    • Well Intervention equipment
    • Slickline operations and associated equipment
    • Pressure Control Equipment (PCE)
    • Equipment certification and testing requirements
    • SAP material management and equipment tracking processes
    • Inventory control and logistics coordination
    • QA/QC inspection standards and practices
  • IWCF Level 2 certification preferred.
  • Additional HSE, Well Intervention, QA/QC, or equipment inspection certifications are considered an advantage.
