MEP Manager - Data Centre

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Manager to oversee the delivery of MEP systems on a major Data Centre project in Barcelona.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all MEP activities from Construction, testing, commissioning, and handover, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all MEP works throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage MEP subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and commissioning teams.
- Review and coordinate MEP design documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and data centre standards.
- Monitor installation progress and ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme milestones.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and integrated systems testing activities.
- Collaborate closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Design Teams, and Client representatives.
- Ensure all MEP systems are delivered in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks associated with MEP packages.
- Support procurement activities, contract administration, and change management processes.
- Manage project reporting, including progress updates, commissioning schedules, and risk registers.
- Drive issue resolution and coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces across the project.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience managing MEP packages on large-scale construction projects.
- Previous experience delivering Data Centres, Mission Critical facilities, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, or other highly technical projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, fire protection, BMS, and critical infrastructure.
- Experience managing commissioning and handover processes within mission-critical environments.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent English required; Spanish language skills would be advantageous.
- Eligibility to work within the European Union is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Direct experience on Tier III or Tier IV Data Centre projects.
- Familiarity with Uptime Institute standards and commissioning methodologies.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination and digital construction tools.
- Experience working on hyperscale or colocation data centre developments.
