We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source an Engineering Lead (Corrosion). This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below.
Title: Engineering Lead (Corrosion)
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar Onshore - Ras Laffan
Working Schedule: 6 days per week / 8-10 hours per day or as per project requirement
--Experience Required—
Key Job Accountabilities
• Provides Corrosion engineering knowledge, design, quality assurance, leadership and expertise in accordance with project deliverables and approved execution schedule.
• Lead Corrosion engineering discipline activities and contribute to the project department strategy and goals, including Field Engineering activities.
• Lead technical activities through interactions with the project owner, shareholder, facilities owner, contractors, vendors, consultants.
• Support the engineering team of external organizations, entities appointed representatives to ensure engineering design addresses each companies’ expectations consistent with client and Project’s objectives.
• Evaluate complex tasks and provide appropriate recommendations to management on MP Onshore issues. Provide support to other disciplines and contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks.
• Develop, introduce and maintain best practices, Lessons Learned, systems and software tools that will continuously improve execution of the projects and optimize cost effective implementation activities.
• Ensures compliance with client systems and processes including the client Project Management System and maintains support and adoption of all processes. Prepare plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of projects.
• Participate in contracting and procurement activities to ensure technical requirements are met from pre-qualification, preparation of bid invitations and requests for quotation, bidding, evaluations, contract execution and performance, and contract(s) close-out.
• Monitors and provides necessary guidance to the EPC Contractor(s) and all 3rd Party Services throughout the project phases. Ensures the facilities are constructed per the scope, meeting client standards and specifications, within the time and project cost approved by the shareholders.
--Minimum Requirements--
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Corrosion science and Material)
Knowledge and Key Skills
• 8 years experience in Corrosion Engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 1 years experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/subcontractors/service/vendor personnel.
• Preferable experience in a major LNG Project.
• LNG and sour gas materials selection and corrosion prevention management experience is highly desirable
• Previous Experience with Corrosion engineering works in Qatar.
