One of our clients, a major oil and gas company has tasked us with identifying experienced Wireline Operators to support winter operations on a contract basis. This role is suited for candidates with direct hands-on wireline experience in both open hole and cased hole environments who are comfortable working extended hours in challenging field conditions and adapting to changing operational demands.

The successful candidate will support wireline intervention and wellsite operations, operate and maintain wireline equipment, complete required inspections, and assist with all aspects of field execution. Candidates must be comfortable working in winter conditions, remaining on location during operational delays, and waiting for plants, facilities, rigs, or customer sites to become ready before commencing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform wireline operations in both open hole and cased hole applications.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot wireline units, support equipment, and associated systems.
  • Assist with wireline intervention, well logging, perforating, completion, and production support activities.
  • Complete equipment rig-up and rig-down activities at customer locations.
  • Conduct and document pre-trip inspections, post-trip inspections, and routine equipment inspections.
  • Operate and maintain MAS units and related support equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Complete required field documentation, operational reports, and safety paperwork.
  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Support transportation of equipment and materials to and from operational sites.
  • Remain available during operational standby periods and respond to changing customer schedules.
  • Work safely and effectively in winter weather conditions and remote field environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Wireline Operator, Wireline Technician, Wireline Field Operator, or similar wireline-focused role.
  • Direct experience with open hole wireline and cased hole wireline operations.
  • Experience operating wireline trucks, wireline units, pressure control equipment, and wellsite support equipment.
  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License.
  • Experience performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Familiarity with wireline safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and field troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work long hours and adapt to changing operational schedules.
  • Willingness to work in winter conditions and remote field locations.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental procedures.

  • Slickline experience.
  • Electric Line (E-Line) experience.
  • Well logging experience.
  • Perforating experience.
  • Well intervention experience.
  • Pressure control equipment experience.
  • Experience supporting drilling, completions, production, or intervention programs.
