Position Overview
This Expeditor opportunity is suited to a highly experienced supply chain professional with a strong background in expediting, vendor coordination and materials delivery. The Expeditor will play a key role in supporting complex equipment and material packages, helping to keep supply activity aligned with project and construction schedules.
The role involves regular coordination with senior expeditors, team leadership, vendors, engineering, contractors, project teams, quality and logistics stakeholders. The position supports project execution by helping to maintain readiness for delivery to site in line with construction and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Expedite assigned equipment and materials to support on-time readiness and delivery in line with project and construction schedules.
- Manage vendor documentation flow to help ensure timely review, completeness and approval of required technical and project documents.
- Review vendor fabrication schedules, inspection plans, inspection reports and related purchase order information to identify and mitigate potential delays.
- Communicate potential or actual delivery issues to stakeholders and work with suppliers to support resolution.
- Coordinate logistics activities and support delivery planning to help ensure site readiness for receiving and off-loading equipment or materials.
- Chair and manage vendor supply meetings, attend project meetings as required, and provide clear status updates on equipment and materials.
- Maintain accurate electronic expediting records to support organised project files and timely closeout activity.
- Support the wider team by sharing expediting process knowledge with new team members, project personnel and vendors where required.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of experience with expedition/supply chain.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Strong working knowledge of expediting best practices and a solid understanding of logistics, purchasing and project documentation requirements.
- Working knowledge of engineering and vendor documentation.
- Strong coordination, organisational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Understanding of Incoterms, shipping methods and warehousing strategies.
- Equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Desirable
- Post-secondary education in a related field such as project management, purchasing, supply chain management, finance or business administration.
