Project Engineer (China-based)
Position Overview
Airswift is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the QELNG COMP5 Project in China. The role focuses on managing vendor packages, equipment, and material delivery performance to ensure project milestones and construction schedules are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Vendor Management
- Monitor China-based vendors and subcontractors to ensure equipment and materials are delivered on schedule.
- Track vendor performance against KPIs, delivery commitments, and Required-On-Site (ROS) dates.
- Identify and mitigate risks that could impact manufacturing, delivery, or construction activities.
- Ensure no outstanding vendor punch-list items remain before equipment is shipped to construction yards.
Manufacturing & Quality Oversight
- Coordinate vendor readiness for critical milestones including:
- Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM)
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Monitor quality, inspection, testing, and manufacturing activities.
- Drive implementation of lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the key interface between:
- Qatar-based Project Management Team (PMT)
- Chinese vendors and suppliers
- Construction yards (COOEC/BOMESC)
- Coordinate participation of engineering, quality, construction, and stakeholder teams during major project events.
HSE & Compliance
- Promote strong Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) culture.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related Science discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Exposure to multiple project functions such as:
- Project Management
- Engineering
- Construction
- Procurement
- Supply Chain
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of:
- Offshore facilities design and operations
- Engineering execution
- Manufacturing processes
- Fabrication yard construction methods
- Quality and inspection practices
- Industry standards, codes, and specifications
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proactive and self-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural project environment.
- Strong reporting and presentation skills.
Language Requirements
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Mandarin/Chinese language capability is highly preferred.
