Field Engineer

Project Duration:        19+ months

Role Overview:

The

Field Engineer

will play a crucial role in supporting

on-site coordination, documentation, and construction tracking

for an

industrial construction project

. This role involves working closely with

superintendents, project managers, and the Project Engineer

to maintain

schedule accuracy, track field progress, and ensure quality control

.

The ideal candidate will have

1-3 years of experience in an operational role

and possess a solid understanding of

industrial construction processes, drawings, and advanced work packaging (AWP)

.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Coordination & Site Management

  • Provide on-site support for construction operations, assisting superintendents, project managers, and project engineers.

  • Conduct site measurements and quantity take-offs to ensure construction progress is accurately tracked.

  • Assist in scheduling and project updates, ensuring proper alignment with the master schedule.

  • Maintain and update drawings, technical documents, and site records.

  • Participate in daily site walks to verify progress and communicate updates to project leadership.

  • Assist the site field team with the creation of IWP’s (Installation Work Packages) and loading and tracking them throughout the lifecycle of the project

  •  

Technical & Documentation Support

  • Generate RFIs (Requests for Information) and ensure all documentation is processed in a timely manner.

  • Track and assist in the creation of change orders, material tracking, and procurement processes.

  • Maintain compliance with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) system while also utilizing client-specific software for project tracking.

  • Ensure all construction records are properly documented and meet quality control standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Participate in the health, safety, and environment (HSE) plan, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.

  • Assist in LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) oversight and regulatory compliance on-site.

  • Support field teams in maintaining safe construction practices and adherence to company safety policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience

    in an operational role within industrial construction.

  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, RFIs, and field documentation.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and site layouts.

  • Hands-on experience with field coordination, material tracking, and subcontractor management.

  • Basic knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and industrial construction methods.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in document control.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in heavy industrial construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.

  • Familiarity with construction scheduling software such as Primavera P6.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SAP, or other project management tools
