Field Operator III 

Duration: 1 year initially with possibility of extension / go direct
Location: Spring, TX

Role Context

This role sits within an oil and gas production environment and focuses on the operation of wells and associated equipment. The position supports daily field operations, maintenance coordination, production monitoring, laboratory sampling, and emergency response activities. This opportunity involves working closely with the operations team and maintaining clear communication during shift handovers and ongoing operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate wells and equipment in line with operating and safety procedures to support daily production plans and reduce equipment failure.
  • Monitor wells and equipment continuously to identify corrective and optimisation actions that improve reliability, efficiency, and safe operating conditions.
  • Coordinate, control, and monitor corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Provide accurate shift handover information to ensure continuity of operations and up-to-date unit conditions.
  • Record relevant operational events, abnormal situations, and deviations affecting equipment, personnel, or the work area.
  • Support equipment care activities and carry out simple maintenance tasks where required.
  • Take product samples for laboratory analysis and perform field laboratory tests.
  • Report incidents, alarms, emergency conditions, or shutdown system issues in line with reporting expectations.
  • Provide clear production information, well condition updates, and diagnostic details relating to well performance issues.
  • Support wellwork operations by ensuring wellhead and surface equipment are maintained and ready for intervention activity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED requred.
  • Previous experience working with lease operations.
  • Extensive knowledge and/or experience of pipeline operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High standard of safety, health, and environmental awareness.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety and operations management tools and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of project philosophy and design specifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and commercial agreements.
