Finance Business Partner 

Location: Perth
Contract:  6 months contract with potential for extension

The Role

A leading energy organisation is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support Corporate stakeholders with finance and cost management activities. This role focuses on enhancing budget owner capability, improving business performance, and delivering financial insights that support effective decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly accruals in conjunction with budget owners to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Deliver timely, accurate and reliable financial reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Conduct cost analysis and provide meaningful variance commentary and performance insights.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain cost models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Prepare budget and forecast submissions and presentation materials within required deadlines.
  • Monitor expenditure trends and identify variances against budget and forecast expectations.
  • Maintain financial master data and ensure compliance with finance processes and cost methodologies.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support audit activities as required.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, Supply Chain and other business functions to drive continuous improvement and business performance.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualification in Accounting.
  • CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification, or currently working towards completion.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience within the energy, oil & gas, resources, or related industries is preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred, particularly FI, CO and PS modules, with exposure to MM, PM and BW advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
  • Adaptable, proactive and committed to continuous improvement.
