Finance Manager / Project CFO (Korea) – Renewable Energy Developer

A leading renewable energy developer operating across Asia is seeking a Finance Manager / Project CFO to oversee financial and accounting management for renewable energy projects in Korea. This role is central to ensuring strong governance and financial discipline in project companies (SPCs) as well as the Korean local subsidiary.


Key Responsibilities

1. Project CFO for SPCs (Special Purpose Companies)

  • Establish and manage accounting, tax, and cash management functions for SPCs
  • Lead budgeting, variance analysis, financial model updates, and stakeholder reporting
  • Manage lender communication, financial reporting, and covenant compliance
  • Develop and operate SPC governance structures, including authority rules and procedures

2. Finance, Accounting & Tax Management for Korean Local Subsidiary

  • Oversee monthly/annual closing, audits, and tax filings
  • Ensure compliance with Korean accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Manage cash flow and budgeting for the Korean entity
  • Consolidate project budgets and prepare management reports for headquarters

3. Support for New Renewable Energy Projects Outside Korea

  • Provide accounting and tax perspectives for new development initiative

Required Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent advanced accounting/finance qualification
  • 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, tax, and internal control, including 5+ years in management
  • Hands-on experience managing SPCs, including financial governance, reporting, and lender relations
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy or infrastructure project structures
  • Deep knowledge of Korean accounting standards and tax laws
  • Knowledge of IFRS and international taxation
  • Business-level English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Korea’s renewable energy or power sector
  • Experience managing SPCs with JV partners
  • Ability to interpret contracts (e.g., SHA) and apply them to financial operations
