 Job Overview
 Airswift is recruiting for an FPSO Technical Safety Services opportunity to support a major deep offshore development project. FPSO Technical Safety Services is a highly technical position focused on safety engineering through detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases. This FPSO Technical Safety Services role offers exposure to international project execution across Paris, Singapore and Geoje, supporting a significant FPSO development in a challenging offshore environment.  Key Responsibilities

  • Review, monitor, and supervise all Technical Safety engineering deliverables during the detailed design phase, including safety calculations, plot plans, layouts, safety philosophies, control philosophies, and supporting documentation.

  • Ensure all safety deliverables comply with project specifications, international standards, classification society requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor engineering activities to ensure the safety scope is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in line with project objectives.

  • Review contractor deliverables, provide technical comments, support clarification meetings, and ensure the timely close-out of actions and recommendations.

  • Coordinate and follow up on safety studies, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring recommendations are effectively implemented.

  • Lead the coordination of Technological Risk Assessments (TRA) performed by third-party consultants and ensure risks to personnel, assets, and the environment are reduced to ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) levels.

  • Review and provide technical input to safety-related engineering queries and support the resolution of technical issues.

  • Ensure safety and personnel protection requirements are fully integrated into the FPSO design throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Interface closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Process, Structures, HVAC, Hull, and SURF disciplines, to optimize safety, operability, and overall project performance.

  • Participate in technical meetings, engineering reviews, contractor progress meetings, and workshops, providing guidance and support on safety-related matters.

  • Contribute to and support HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, technical reviews, and other safety-focused workshops throughout engineering, construction, integration, and installation phases.

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of safety studies, ensuring methodologies and procedures are established and approved before commencement.

  • Monitor and manage the close-out of safety-related actions arising from HAZIDs, HAZOPs, audits, and risk assessments.

  • Report regularly to the FPSO Technical Safety Lead on engineering progress, technical risks, quality concerns, and required mitigation measures.

  • Provide technical safety support to the FPSO Technical Safety Lead and FPSO Engineering Management team.

  • Promote the implementation of lessons learned from previous FPSO and offshore developments and contribute to project close-out activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience working on FPSO projects.

  • Strong background in Technical Safety Engineering within offshore oil and gas developments.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting detailed design activities.

  • Experience across procurement, construction, and commissioning phases is highly desirable.

  • Exposure to complex, large-scale offshore projects with stringent safety requirements.

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 8 years specializing in Safety/HSE Design for oil and gas projects, with prior FPSO project experience.

Required Skills

  • Fluent in English with professional proficiency; French is an advantage.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Proven expertise in FPSO Safety Engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of process safety, risk assessment, and risk management principles.

  • Solid capability and experience in detailed engineering design.

  • Ability to interpret and apply project specifications, engineering documentation, and international codes and standards.

  • Ability to provide technical guidance and support within a multidisciplinary project environment.

  • Must be eligible to work in Europe.
