FPSO Telecom Lead

Location: France, with project transition to Asia
This company is seeking an experienced FPSO Telecom Lead to support a major ultra-deepwater offshore oil and gas development, beginning in France during the engineering phase and progressing to Asia for fabrication, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover. The FPSO Telecom Lead will play a key role in the design, specification, integration, and delivery of critical telecommunications systems for offshore production facilities and FPSOs. This is a highly technical opportunity for an FPSO Telecom Lead with strong offshore project exposure, multidisciplinary coordination capability, and proven experience across complex deepwater or ultra-deepwater developments.
Job Description:
The FPSO Telecom Lead will be responsible for the design, review, integration, testing, and commissioning of telecommunications systems across all project phases. The FPSO Telecom Lead will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, EPC contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure systems are delivered in line with project requirements, international standards, and industry best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and review telecommunications system design deliverables throughout all project phases
- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and associated design documentation
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, and EPC contractors
- Support procurement activities, vendor evaluations, technical bid reviews, and factory acceptance tests
- Interface with package vendors to ensure seamless integration of telecom systems
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and operational readiness activities
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup
- Manage interfaces between offshore facilities, onshore control centres, and communication networks
- Support testing and commissioning activities in Asia during the construction and integration phases
Technical systems experience required includes:

- Marine and aeronautical radio systems including VHF/UHF

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10+ years of telecommunications engineering experience in the offshore oil and gas industry
- Demonstrated experience on major FPSO, offshore production, or subsea developments
- Strong knowledge of offshore telecommunications standards and industry regulations
- Experience working with EPC contractors and multinational project teams
- Ability to travel and relocate temporarily between France and Asia as required by project execution
