Airswift is looking for an Health & Safety Advisor - Operations to work for a major O&G company in Lake Charles, Louisiana, for an initial 12-months assignment.
 

This opportunity supports safe, compliant and reliable midstream operations across pipeline, compression, storage and measurement environments. The role offers a strong field-based focus, combining regulatory compliance, emergency response support and practical safety leadership across operational assets. This position will contribute to inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and high-risk work planning within a technically demanding oil and gas setting.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of safety experience in midstream, pipeline, oil and gas, or energy operations.
  • Experience supporting pipeline maintenance, compressor station operations, or storage facilities.
  • Experience working across field operations involving pipeline rights of way, compressor stations, storage facilities, and measurement sites.
  • Experience supporting incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and closure verification.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of PHMSA pipeline safety regulations and OSHA 1910.
  • Ability to provide field-level health and safety support across operational midstream assets.
  • Capability to support high-risk work planning and field verification, including permit-to-work, energy isolation/LOTO, hot work, confined space entry, excavation, line breaking, atmospheric testing, SIMOPS, and work at heights.
  • Ability to conduct inspections, audits, behavioural observations, and hazard identification activities.
  • Experience maintaining health and safety metrics, trends, and reporting for operational leadership.
  • Ability to participate in risk assessments, work planning, and management of change reviews.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene monitoring, including noise, atmospheric testing, heat stress, and confined space monitoring.
  • Ability to support emergency preparedness, drills, and ICS/NIMS-aligned response activities.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Power BI, and safety management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CHST, ASP, CSP, OHST, or equivalent safety certification (Preferred).
  • Experience with integrity digs, pigging campaigns, outages, or major maintenance events.
  • ICS/NIMS training, including ICS-100, 200, 700, and 800.
  • Incident investigation experience and strong report-writing skills.
