Airswift is seeking an HSE Field Coordinator to support a major renewable energy construction project in Brooklyn, NY.
This role will support onshore construction activities associated with a large-scale renewable energy development. Primary responsibilities will be based at a marine terminal facility in Brooklyn, supporting the construction of operational facilities, an electrical substation, and material staging/laydown areas. Occasional travel may be required to support contractor HSE engagements and provide HSE support at additional project sites throughout the New York City area.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior on-site HSE representative, promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Drive field implementation of safety initiatives, including safety leadership coaching, proactive observations, and reporting programs.
- Partner collaboratively with contractor HSE personnel and site management teams.
- Support HSE reporting and data entry activities, including documentation of observations, near misses, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Conduct follow-up activities related to incident investigations, audits, self-assessments, verification efforts, and action tracking.
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across all site activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of HSE experience supporting construction projects.
- Experience working with union workforces, preferably within the New York area.
- Proven ability to provide HSE support on large-scale, complex, and fast-paced projects.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior HSE professionals.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in common business software and the ability to learn project-specific systems.
- GWO certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
