This opportunity is suited to a technical design professional with strong Instrumentation and Electrical design capability and advanced Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) expertise. The role focuses on supporting drawing production, design package development, SPI migration activity, and database management within a refinery environment. This position offers the chance to contribute across multiple project phases while also providing guidance to less experienced design personnel.


Required Education:

  • AAS in Drafting/Design or equivalent.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a similar capacity in a comparable design-focused role.

  • Experience migrating entire systems to Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).

  • Ability to work safely in both office and refinery environments, including carrying out field walkdowns.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical standards, methods, and practices.

  • Strong working knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).

  • AutoCAD or equivalent design software.

  • Ability to create and revise I&E drawings through design and management of change processes.

  • Experience assembling I&E design packages for construction use.

  • Ability to track and report progress for current and future SPI migration projects.

  • Capability to manage the SPI database across refinery units.

  • Ability to support and train less experienced designers and drafters in SPI software and hardware.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar capacity within refining, petrochemical, or related industry environments.

  • Falcon experience.

  • SAP experience.
