About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Inspection Coordinator to oversee and coordinate inspection activities across multiple field locations within the oil & gas industry. This role serves as the primary liaison between integrity management teams, inspection contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure inspections are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of pressure vessels, piping systems, storage tanks, and non-destructive examination (NDE) methods, along with proven experience managing inspection programs and contractor personnel.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise third-party inspection contractors and field inspection activities.
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture in all inspection operations.
  • Develop inspection schedules and workforce plans based on operational needs and asset integrity requirements.
  • Ensure inspection activities are executed according to approved procedures, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory expectations.
  • Review inspection reports for completeness, accuracy, and technical adequacy.
  • Communicate inspection findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure inspection records, equipment history, and maintenance data are accurately maintained within CMMS systems.
  • Identify gaps between field practices and documented procedures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and provide ongoing feedback to project and integrity management teams.
  • Coordinate inspection activities across multiple sites and support project execution as required.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in inspection disciplines including:

    • Pressure vessels
    • Storage tanks
    • Piping systems
    • Fixed equipment
    • Rotating equipment
    • Instrumentation and electrical equipment
    • Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)
  • Support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout fabrication, construction, procurement, and operational phases.
  • Review and evaluate supplier and contractor quality documentation.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests (FATs), equipment inspections, audits, and surveillance activities.
  • Support development and implementation of inspection and testing plans (ITPs).
  • Identify potential quality issues and proactively drive solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in oil & gas, industrial inspection, asset integrity, or related operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience coordinating inspection programs, contractors, or integrity management activities.
  • Strong understanding of:

    • API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspection)
    • API 570 (Piping Inspection)
    • API 653 (Storage Tank Inspection)
    • ASME Codes and Standards
    • Relevant industry and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with inspection planning, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of CMMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Maximo, Meridian, or similar systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

NDE Knowledge

Candidates should have experience or familiarity with the following inspection methods:

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Radiographic Testing (RT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Visual Testing (VT)

Certifications

Required

  • API 653 – Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector

Preferred

  • API 510 – Pressure Vessel Inspector
  • API 570 – Piping Inspector
  • NDE Level II or Level III Certifications (UT, RT, MT, PT)

Additional Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
  • Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support project and field activities as needed.
