Position Overview
As an Inspection Coordinator, you will ensure that all equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the supply chain. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing vendor inspection activities to support the successful delivery of equipment and materials for major Oil & Gas projects. Working closely with Procurement, Expediting, Quality, Engineering, Vendors, and Third-Party Inspection Agencies, you will ensure inspection requirements are effectively implemented throughout the project lifecycle and that all deliverables comply with project, client, and regulatory expectations.
Role Context
This position operates within a project environment supporting critical FPSO package delivery scopes. The role interfaces across vendors, inspection agencies, project teams, and logistics stakeholders and is closely aligned with Package Management, Procurement, Engineering, Expediting, and Quality functions. A key principle of this role is the “no carry-over work” policy, ensuring that all inspection activities are completed prior to material release, with a strong focus on closing punch lists and outstanding work items.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Planning
Develop and implement inspection plans and schedules in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, and regulatory obligations.
Review vendor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and manufacturing schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Inspection Coordination
Coordinate and manage inspection activities across the project supply chain.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and third-party inspection agencies to facilitate inspections and ensure timely completion.
Support inspection readiness reviews and monitor inspection milestones throughout manufacturing and delivery phases.
Compliance Monitoring
Ensure all inspection activities comply with project requirements, company procedures, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
Monitor supplier compliance with contractual quality requirements and inspection obligations.
Documentation Management
Maintain comprehensive records of inspection reports, certificates, quality records, release documentation, and non-conformance reports.
Ensure inspection documentation is complete, accurate, and available for project stakeholders.
Issue Resolution
Identify, document, and facilitate the resolution of non-conformances, quality concerns, and inspection findings.
Follow up with vendors and contractors to ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out effectively.
Communication & Reporting
Provide regular updates to Project Management, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and other stakeholders regarding inspection status, findings, and critical issues.
Escalate significant quality risks or delays that may impact project delivery.
Vendor Management
Work closely with suppliers and contractors to ensure inspection processes and quality systems meet project expectations.
Participate in supplier meetings and support quality performance monitoring throughout the supply chain.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience coordinating inspection activities within project supply chains.
Demonstrated experience inspecting and managing vendors throughout manufacturing and delivery processes.
Experience working with Procurement, Expediting, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Previous Oil & Gas project experience is mandatory.
Strong understanding of vendor surveillance, manufacturing inspections, quality documentation, and supplier quality management.
Experience dealing with third-party inspection agencies and contractor organizations.
Pure QA/QC inspection profiles without exposure to Supply Chain and Vendor Management processes will not be considered.
Experience supporting complex equipment packages, modules, rotating equipment, or similar Oil & Gas project scopes is advantageous.
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple vendors and inspection activities simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution capabilities.
Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
