About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with experience in industrial automation, PLC systems, and electrical design. This is primarily an office-based role supporting control system design, troubleshooting, and integration projects, with occasional site visits for commissioning and startup support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.
  • Design PLC panels, control enclosures, and develop Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Produce and review electrical drawings, schematics, panel layouts, and cable schedules using AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with HMI and automation teams to support system integration.
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, loop checks, and system testing.
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing control and electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in industrial controls, automation, instrumentation, or electrical design.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Strong AutoCAD and electrical documentation experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and safety logic.
  • Background in industrial automation, manufacturing, process controls, or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, and electrical standards.
  • Experience with system commissioning and startup activities.

Desired Technical Skills

  • PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, National Instruments, or Automation Direct.
  • Ladder Logic, Function Block, and Structured Text programming.
  • Industrial communication protocols including Ethernet/IP and Modbus.
  • AutoCAD and other industrial software tools.

A hands-on controls and automation professional with experience in PLC systems, electrical design, and troubleshooting. Candidates with backgrounds in Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Instrumentation, Integration, or Electrical Design are encouraged to apply.
