About the Opportunity
We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with experience in industrial automation, PLC systems, and electrical design. This is primarily an office-based role supporting control system design, troubleshooting, and integration projects, with occasional site visits for commissioning and startup support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.
- Design PLC panels, control enclosures, and develop Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Produce and review electrical drawings, schematics, panel layouts, and cable schedules using AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with HMI and automation teams to support system integration.
- Assist with commissioning, startup, loop checks, and system testing.
- Troubleshoot and improve existing control and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in industrial controls, automation, instrumentation, or electrical design.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong AutoCAD and electrical documentation experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and safety logic.
- Background in industrial automation, manufacturing, process controls, or similar industries.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, and electrical standards.
- Experience with system commissioning and startup activities.
Desired Technical Skills
- PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, National Instruments, or Automation Direct.
- Ladder Logic, Function Block, and Structured Text programming.
- Industrial communication protocols including Ethernet/IP and Modbus.
- AutoCAD and other industrial software tools.
