This opportunity supports upstream production operating units and capital projects, with a focus on maintaining safety, availability, and reliability across instrument and control systems while optimizing cost. The role is centered on pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, engineering oversight, and coordination across technical disciplines in the Midland basin. This position offers broad exposure to instrumentation engineering, commissioning execution, and project acceptance testing within a complex project environment.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s or MS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Required Experience:
Previous experience in a closely related position and/or supervisory experience in a related field
Experience supporting upstream production operating units and capital projects
Experience overseeing engineering contractors and maintaining standard designs
Experience participating in technical, constructability, and quality reviews including HAZOP and LOPA reviews
Experience supporting project acceptance testing, including reviewing procedures, assigning resources, and integrating outcomes into commissioning scope
Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
Ability to define scope for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, assign workloads, and support man hour estimating, cost estimating, budgeting, and progress reporting
Ability to review, evaluate, and update cause and effect documents, P&IDs, logic diagrams, architecture diagrams, and control narratives
Experience in the selection, application, and ISA data sheet specification of pressure, temperature, and level instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, and fire and gas detection systems
Ability to support the design, review, and approval of instrumentation engineering deliverables including instrument indexes, installation details, location drawings, datasheets, wiring drawings, loop drawings, material requisitions, calculations, document control logs, bill of materials, and instrument change approvals
Proficiency in data collection and analysis using SAP, Analytics for Excel, and Tableau
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities
Strong communication skills in English for technical and business communication
Ability to evaluate and comment on low voltage electrical design documents at 480V and below
Ability to liaise effectively with customers, vendors, engineers, and other disciplines
