This opportunity supports a major detail design EPC project in the oil, gas and petrochemical sector, focused on process instrumentation, process control and automation. The role will provide engineering expertise to a Project Management Team and contribute to technical delivery across FEED, engineering design review and project execution. This position offers involvement in complex instrument and control systems, custody measurement, DCS, ESD and Foundation Fieldbus within a large-scale water handling development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide realistic and practical technical solutions to operational engineering challenges.
  • Support the Project Management Team with engineering expertise across process instrumentation, custody measurement and process control and automation.
  • Evaluate existing and new manufacturers for technical competence and compliance.
  • Perform technical studies on project-related engineering issues and prepare reports for technical and management review.
  • Review engineering and design proposals for a large project.
  • Review and develop engineering and design documentation, including engineering procedures, standards and FEED specifications.
  • Contribute to HAZOP and SIL activities and apply knowledge of IEC 61511.
  • Work collaboratively with design engineers, operations engineers, purchasers and other internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities as required.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Process or Process Control Engineering (Required)

Required Experience:

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in instrument and control engineering within the oil, gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Experience in EPC project execution and FEED stage delivery.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction, including field experience.
  • Background in project management.
  • Field experience during plant construction, commissioning, start-up or operations.
  • Experience with a wide variety of instrument and control installations in oil, gas or petrochemical industries.
  • Experience with selected project vendor PCS and FAT activities.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and control covering flow, level, pressure, temperature and process analysis.
  • Traceable experience in instrument selection related to process applications.
  • Good knowledge of boiler control, process heater control and process furnace control in line with project process requirements.
  • Good knowledge of materials and material selection for in-line instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems for instrumentation, including cabling, wiring methods, grounding, materials and control circuits.
  • Experience in hazardous area design implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of national and international standards, particularly ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA and IEC.
  • Knowledge of DCS and ESD implementation.
  • Foundation Fieldbus expertise.
  • Advanced computer literacy in office and technical software.
  • Good English communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to plan and organise work effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge in a project setting.
