Duration: 6 months

Overview

This role is based within a refinery environment and supports a temporary, project-based stabilisation phase. The position works closely with warehouse operations, logistics, material demand planning, procurement, and project stakeholders to help protect operational readiness and execution. The working environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and closely connected to field and warehouse activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory activities required to maintain material availability and inventory accuracy during the stabilisation period.
  • Execute and control complex inventory transactions, including partial issues and receipts, returns, reversals, corrections, and manual adjustments where required.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, incorrect on-hand balances, and stock variances, and drive timely resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Plan and support cycle counts, targeted inventory counts, and full inventory validation activities, including review of count results and variance resolution.
  • Review replenishment signals and material requirements, identify exceptions impacting availability, and take action to prevent disruption to operations.
  • Support inventory processes linked to job kitting, material staging, and marshalling to ensure materials are correctly allocated and available for execution.
  • Maintain and improve material data quality, including descriptions, units of measure, storage locations, and lead times.
  • Support inventory optimisation activities, including replenishment review, excess inventory management, obsolete stock review, and repairable materials coordination.
  • Document recurring issues, track operational impacts, and provide clear reporting on inventory risks, discrepancies, and workaround activity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or materials management.
  • Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA, ideally within the MM module.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP planning, replenishment processes, and physical inventory control.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and data accuracy skills in high-tempo environments.
  • Ability to operate in both system-based and field-based inventory environments.
  • Desirable: Experience in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Desirable: Experience in turnaround or project-based environments.
