Job Title: IT Project Manager
Schedule: Mon - Fri
Location: Malaysia
This opportunity is with a leading company in the global offshore energy industry, recognised for floating production solutions, mooring systems, production operations, terminals and services. The role is focused on leading medium-complexity IT projects from initiation through completion, with responsibility for project delivery, stakeholder coordination, budget control and risk management. This position will suit professionals with strong experience across IT infrastructure, software development, system integration and project management methodologies.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, software development, and system integration projects
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing project management methodologies, best practices, and standards
- Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and financial oversight of IT projects
- Experience in risk management, change management, and quality assurance processes
Required Skills:
- Ability to lead and manage multiple medium-complexity projects from initiation to completion, delivering to scope, timeline and budget
- Strong capability in project planning, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation and risk management strategies
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and supporting effective communication and collaboration
- Ability to define project objectives, scope and deliverables aligned to business goals and customer requirements
- Experience monitoring project progress, tracking KPIs and preparing stakeholder status reports
- Strong issue resolution and risk mitigation capability to support successful project outcomes
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid project management approaches
- Strong leadership, team-building, communication and interpersonal skills
- Functional strengths in governance, analytics and reporting, cost and budget control, business partnering, contract management, project control and planning
- Digital savvy and strong business acumen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- Master’s degree in project management, business administration, or a related field
