Role overview:

Seeking a Junior Buyer to support procurement activities in Anchorage, Alaska. This position will assist the Procurement and Supply Chain team with purchasing activities, supplier coordination, purchase order management, expediting, and materials tracking to ensure timely delivery of goods and services supporting project execution.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, materials management, or project support within construction, energy, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, or industrial environments. 

Required Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, materials management, logistics, or project support.

  • Assist with preparation and issuance of purchase orders for equipment, materials, and services.

  • Support supplier solicitation, bid evaluations, and quote comparisons.

  • Coordinate with project teams to understand procurement requirements and delivery schedules.

  • Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

  • Support expediting activities with vendors and suppliers.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

  • Assist with vendor onboarding and qualification processes.

  • Coordinate material status updates and communicate delivery schedules to project stakeholders.

  • Support invoice reconciliation and purchase order closeout activities.

  • Monitor procurement reports and maintain data within purchasing systems.

  • Work closely with construction, project controls, logistics, and warehouse teams to support project requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong capability in purchase order management, procurement administration, vendor coordination, and supplier relationship management.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, problem solving, and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.

  • Exposure to procurement processes for construction or capital projects.

  • Understanding of purchasing terminology, contracts, and supplier management.

  • Experience supporting large engineering, procurement, and construction projects.

  • Familiarity with materials management and inventory tracking concepts.
