An exciting opportunity has become available for a Junior Civil Drafter to join a globally connected Rail Infrastructure team based in Perth.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early career drafter looking to develop their technical skills and build a long-term career within a collaborative engineering environment. You'll gain exposure to major rail and civil infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced specialists delivering projects from concept through to construction across Australia and internationally.
The Opportunity
As a Junior Civil Drafter, you will provide drafting and design support on a range of rail and civil infrastructure projects. Working closely with engineers and designers, you will contribute to the preparation of high-quality technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a Perth-based position with a minimum requirement of three days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings for rail and civil infrastructure projects.
- Develop rail alignment plans, longitudinal sections, cross-sections and track layout drawings.
- Produce drawings for earthworks, drainage, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Prepare Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation in line with project requirements and industry standards.
- Manage drawing revisions and incorporate design updates throughout project delivery.
- Maintain drawing registers and support document control processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure quality and consistency across project deliverables.
About You
- Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering Drafting or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
