Seeking an experienced contractor to provide customer audit support for a six-month engagement. The primary objective of this role is to assist with clearing legacy audit backlogs and supporting the timely resolution and closure of outstanding customer audits.
Scope of Work
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Investigating outstanding customer audit queries, gathering supporting documentation, and drafting audit responses.
- Collaborating with Financial Accounting (FA), Production Accounting (PA), Commercial, Legal, and other stakeholder groups to resolve audit issues and customer inquiries.
- Reviewing and following up on previously submitted audit responses, working closely with Commercial Services and other stakeholders to advance audits toward deemed-closed status.
- Compiling supporting documentation and audit evidence for the Audit Coordinator to facilitate the finalization of audit responses.
- Managing and maintaining SharePoint folders related to audit queries and responses, including establishing new folders as required.
- Assisting the Audit Coordinator in preparing monthly audit progress reports for senior management.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and recommending best practices based on prior audit experience and industry best practices.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in joint venture accounting, customer audits, or a related accounting discipline.
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting designation (CPA) is considered an asset.
Project management experience is an asset.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
Experience with industry-specific systems such as Qbyte, PAS, SAP, and EnergyLink.
Strong understanding of PASC procedures and industry accounting practices.
Ability to use AI tools and emerging technologies to support customer audits.
- Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience managing audit-related discussions and dispute resolution.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive audits to completion.
