Lead Structural Engineer - Offshore Wind

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer with a proven track record in Offshore Wind projects to provide technical leadership on complex offshore wind developments for South Korean market.

This position is intended for senior engineers who have direct experience in the design and delivery of offshore wind foundations and support structures, and who can lead multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle in South Korea.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Act as Structural Discipline Lead on offshore wind projects
  • Lead structural engineering activities from concept design through detailed design and construction support
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project team members
  • Manage design reviews, engineering quality and technical risk
  • Develop and implement structural design methodologies and best practices

Engineering & Design

  • Lead structural analysis and design of offshore wind foundations and associated structures
  • Prepare, review and approve engineering calculations and technical reports
  • Review and approve structural drawings and engineering deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements and international design standards
  • Support feasibility studies, FEED, detailed design and construction phases

Stakeholder Management

  • Lead technical discussions with clients, contractors and certification bodies
  • Coordinate with geotechnical, marine, installation and project management disciplines
  • Support tender preparation and business development activities

Mandatory Requirements

Offshore Wind Experience (Essential)

Applicants must possess demonstrable experience in offshore wind projects.

  • Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 years of direct offshore wind experience
  • Proven experience acting as Lead Engineer, Package Engineer or Discipline Lead on offshore wind projects
  • Hands-on experience in the design of offshore wind foundations and support structures
  • Experience delivering projects through FEED and detailed design phases

Technical Requirements

Strong experience in one or more of the following:

  • Monopile foundations
  • Jacket foundations
  • Floating offshore wind structures
  • Secondary steel structures
  • Transition pieces
  • Offshore substations

Experience using structural analysis software such as:

  • SACS
  • SESAM
  • STAAD Pro
  • ANSYS
  • Abaqus
  • Equivalent offshore structural analysis tools

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering or related discipline

Language Requirements

  • Korean: Business Fluent or Native Level
  • English: Professional Working Proficiency
