About the Role
This is an onsite, full-time hours from Monday to Friday based in the office in Gladstone QLD on an initial 12-months’ contract with the possibility for extension.
As the Lead Civil & Structural Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership and deliver a range of capital, brownfield, and greenfield projects across industrial, energy, infrastructure, and operational facility sectors. The role combines hands-on engineering expertise with client engagement, including defining project scopes, supporting proposals, and identifying new business opportunities across the region.
Responsibilities:
- Lead civil and structural engineering projects across industrial, energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors.
- Deliver engineering solutions that meet quality, safety, regulatory, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Build strong client relationships and understand their business, operational, and technical needs.
- Support business growth by identifying opportunities, defining project scopes, and contributing to proposals and cost estimates.
- Provide technical oversight for designs, calculations, reports, specifications, and site-related issues.
- Mentor and support engineers and designers to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Represent the organization in client meetings, technical discussions, site visits, and business development activities.
Skills/Requirements
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
- Chartered Professional Engineer status, registration on an appropriate national engineering register, and any relevant state-based professional engineering registration such as RPEQ or RPEV, or eligibility to obtain these registrations
- Significant experience in civil and structural engineering within heavy industry, energy, infrastructure, or process plant environments.
- Strong experience supporting brownfield projects and operating assets.
- Solid technical knowledge of structural design, foundations, concrete, steel, drainage, and constructability.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and 3D modelling tools, including Space Gass and FEA software (e.g., Strand7).
- Proven ability to build client relationships, support business development, and win repeat work.
- Experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
