Lead HVAC Engineer
Location: Chengdu, China

Perform daily monitoring of

HVAC

engineering activities to ensure full compliance with TotalEnergies HSE policies, project specifications, schedules, and applicable standards.

Actively promote a strong HSE culture within the

HVAC

team and among Contractors during engineering, site, and commissioning activities.

Participate in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and HSE coordination meetings with Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning teams.

Ensure that

HVAC

engineering solutions fully incorporate HSE requirements, including functional safety, alarm management, and safe?by?design principles.

Review, track, and close actions arising from HSE studies and reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, CHAZOP, constructability, and operational safety reviews.

Review and respond to

HVAC

technical queries, engineering clarifications, and deviation requests from EPC Contractors, Vendors, and Consultants, ensuring HSE compliance is maintained at all times.

Coordinate with Package Engineering Coordinators and other disciplines to manage

HVAC

technical interfaces and resolve technical or safety?related impacts.

Review

HVAC

design documents, calculations, layouts, and system architectures to ensure compliance with approved HSE requirements and project standards.

Monitor

HVAC

engineering progress against agreed execution plans, identify technical, schedule, and HSE risks, and define corrective actions.

Participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings to address

HVAC

technical, safety, and progress matters.

Provide day?to?day

HVAC

engineering support to Site and Construction teams, ensuring activities are executed safely and in accordance with approved method statements and risk assessments.

Review shop drawings, installation methodologies, and site change requests related to

HVAC

and telecom systems, with a focus on safety, operability, and maintainability.

Participate in site walkdowns and inspections to verify

HVAC

installation compliance with approved designs and specifications requirements.

Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), loop checks, and system integration tests for HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with HSE and functional safety requirements.

Participate in pre?commissioning, commissioning, and start?up activities, including Cause & Effect testing, alarm validation, and functional safety verification for

HVAC

.

Coordinate with Operations, Commissioning, and Maintenance teams to ensure safe handover of

HVAC

and readiness for operations.

Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), SIMOPS requirements, and other applicable HSE controls during site and commissioning activities involving

HVAC

.

Assist in daily and weekly planning of

HVAC

engineering and site activities, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated in advance.

Contribute to engineering progress reporting by highlighting

HVAC

status, safety concerns, technical risks, and mitigation actions.

Monitor

HVAC

discipline maturity and readiness in preparation for upcoming engineering gates, audits, and project reviews.

Support assessment of

HVAC

scope changes and ensure no adverse impact on safety, regulatory compliance, or operational integrity.

Coordinate daily workload within the

HVAC

team, ensuring adequate competency coverage and escalating technical, or resource concerns to the Technical Manager.

Strictly comply with, enforce, and promote all applicable TotalEnergies procedures, instructions, and rules at all times.
