Job Title: Lease Operator II or III
Duration: 12 months
Schedule: Nights 7/7 (6pm-6am)
Location: Big Lake, TX

This opportunity offers hands-on responsibility for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units and related facilities within an oil and gas production environment. The role supports facility start-up, process optimisation and field operations, with a strong focus on oil, gas and water separation facilities, SCADA data trending, alarm diagnosis and surface equipment troubleshooting. This position is well suited to candidates who can work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, environmental performance and operational reliability.

Required Education:

  • High School diploma

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a closely related position
  • Experience operating and monitoring wells, processing units and related production facilities
  • Experience in oil, gas and water separation facilities operations
  • Experience with new facilities start-up and operations
  • Experience troubleshooting surface equipment in a hands-on operational role

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of process flow, operating conditions, unit safety equipment and isolation points
  • Ability to monitor and optimise process performance using computer data, generated schematics and SCADA data trending
  • Capability to diagnose and resolve alarms and adjust local process parameters such as temperature and pressure
  • Ability to maintain, operate and repair surface equipment associated with oil and gas production
  • Competence in issuing safe work permits and carrying out gas testing in line with operational safety requirements
  • Ability to inspect equipment, record operating data accurately, take product samples and monitor key performance indicators including pressure, level, flow rate and vibration
  • Computer proficiency with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Physical ability to lift more than 50 lbs and climb ladders and stairways
  • Ability to use self-contained breathing apparatus and other safety detection equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in new facility start-up and early operations is highly desirable
  • Experience working in night shift operations with a strong emphasis on hands-on troubleshooting and reduced administrative workload would be advantageous
