This company is a major multinational energy organisation with operations spanning upstream, downstream, and lower-carbon initiatives, offering a technically varied and business-critical setting.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience involving legal support, regulatory matters, technology-related matters, commercial transactions, compliance, corporate governance, matter management, complex document review, or comparable work
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new subject areas, processes, systems, and stakeholder environments and to transition effectively across changing assignments
  • Experience analysing complex legal, regulatory, technical, commercial, and business information and producing clear, objective summaries for review
  • Experience supporting matter intake, tracking, reporting, document management, and follow-up activities through to completion
  • Experience working across broad functional and organisational lines with attorneys, business partners, subject matter experts, outside counsel, and staff

Required Skills:

  • Strong legal and factual research capability, with the ability to identify relevant facts, issues, dependencies, deadlines, and potential risks
  • Strong document preparation, review, revision, proofreading, editing, and organisational skills using approved templates and guidance
  • Excellent matter-management, analytical, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage varied deadlines, competing priorities, and changing workload demands
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including collaboration in both in-person and virtual environments
  • Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and timely information in matter-management systems, collaboration platforms, trackers, and repositories
  • Digital fluency including proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn and apply approved AI-enabled tools, automation, analytics, and digital solutions responsibly
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential, privileged, personal, technical, and business-sensitive information
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation, or removal of non-value-added work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting more than one legal practice area, business unit, or type of legal work
  • Experience supporting regulatory, technology, commercial, compliance, corporate governance, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, or other cross-functional legal matters
  • Experience reviewing and summarising legal, regulatory, technical, commercial, or business documents and information
  • Experience with matter-management, reporting, analytics, document-management, or collaboration technologies such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, or comparable tools
  • Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, law degree, or other relevant education or professional training
  • Equivalent combinations of education, professional training, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered
