Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Logistics Specialist to work on a 12 months contract in Spring, TX

Job Description

  • Support to Global Projects for developing logistics solutions which enable transportation process visibility, minimize risk and capture capital efficiency opportunities.
  • Project Logistics Advisor is required to be a commercial and technical subject matter expert in all required modes of transportation including, but not limited to, Heavy Lift Ocean Freight, Heavy Haul/Heavy Lift services, barging, flat-bed truck service, container ocean freight, warehousing, facilitation of Import Customs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Team Resource: Initiate and continuous performance monitoring of contracted commercial resources in support of multiple Capital Projects ranging in over 1B in total project value to small site sponsored projects and Turn-Arounds.
  • Global function: Projects supported executed on a global basis, and will become capital assets for Upstream, Downstream and Chemicals business lines.
  • Market & Industry Engagement: Attend supply chain and heavy lift industry events, gather market intelligence, and maintain market intelligence databases for advising client business lines and Project Managers.
  • Heavy Haul/Heavy Lift Expert: Function as Heavy Haul/Heavy Lift service advisor. Develop Scope of Work and competitive bidding documents for requesting heavy haul/heavy lift services proposals to support construction requirements and schedules.
  • Heavy Lift Ocean Freight: Required to be fluent in BIMCO Heavy Lift Charter Party contracts and development multi-year global agreements with Heavy Lift Ocean Freight Carriers and Project Logistics Service Providers.
  • Scheduling: Develop Master Project Transportation Planning tools that enable Construction schedules and Required-on-Site dates. Continuous monitoring and analysis of expediting and purchasing report for determination of required carriers and transportation modes. Identify at-risk deliveries and develop contingency plans.
  • Risk & Compliance: Assess logistical risks and ensure that all global trade, transportation, and safety regulations are adhered.

Skills

  • Experience with Major Capital Project Logistics Execution – deep experience with large-scale projects, heavy lift, multimodal transport, construction integration
  • TMS & Digital Logistics Platforms – SAP TM, Oracle TM, tracking tools, reporting, visibility
  • Heavy Lift / Global Freight Contracting & Risk Management – ocean, heavy haul, customs, compliance, risk mitigation
