Role Overview

  • Lead maintenance operations across drilling rigs, mobile fleet, and supporting site equipment.
  • Deliver equipment availability and reliability targets to support drilling production schedules.
  • Coordinate maintenance planning with operations to minimize downtime.
  • Manage preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and major repairs.
  • Plan and manage shutdown maintenance activities as required.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance performance including availability and downtime drivers.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs aligned with OEM specifications.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and manage the site asset register and equipment history.
  • Ensure all maintenance work orders and service records are accurately captured.
  • Manage maintenance backlog, work order planning, and scheduling.
  • Accountable for maintenance inventory planning and spare parts management.
  • Ensure compliance with PNG regulatory requirements and site safety standards.
  • Lead multidisciplinary maintenance teams and promote workforce development.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Maintenance planning and execution skills.
  • Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance systems.
  • Experience in asset lifecycle management.
  • Proficient in spare parts inventory control.
  • Understanding of safety leadership and regulatory compliance.
  • Workforce development and contractor management experience.

Education & Experience

  • Mechanical, electrical or maintenance engineering qualification or equivalent trade background.
  • Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in drilling, mining, or heavy mobile equipment operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing maintenance operations in remote or developing jurisdictions.
