Airswift is looking for a Marine Coordinator to work for a major O&G company in Houston, TX, for an initial 6-months assignment.
 

Position Overview

The Marine Coordinator role offers the opportunity to support safe, reliable, and efficient LNG business operations across a complex marine environment. This Marine Coordinator position is focused on marine assurance, HSSE activity, and ship-shore compatibility across the hydrocarbon transportation value chain. The Marine Coordinator will work across terminal, commercial, and marine interfaces, contributing technical oversight and operational assurance within a global LNG setting. This Marine Coordinator opportunity is well suited to candidates seeking a technically focused role with broad exposure to maritime risk, vessel quality, and compatibility activity.

Role Context

This position sits within the LNG and hydrocarbon marine operations sector, supporting activities linked to transportation, storage, and terminal operations. The role includes engagement across marine teams, commercial operations, and vessel operators within a global trading and terminal environment. The Marine Coordinator role may involve periodic domestic travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide marine assurance input on the condition, operational quality, and safety of vessels involved in hydrocarbon transportation, including LNG and bunker fuels.
  • Review vessel assurance information and follow up on inspection findings, incident reports, and remedial actions with relevant fleet managers.
  • Support ship-shore compatibility activity by maintaining compatibility information and coordinating with marine and operational stakeholders.
  • Maintain marine assurance tools and associated databases used to support operational planning and assurance activity.
  • Produce regular reports covering HSSE and marine assurance activities.
  • Follow up on HSSE incidents and operational events involving relevant vessels.
  • Participate in emergency drills and exercises with vessel and terminal stakeholders to support effective marine incident response.
  • Promote strong safety standards through active participation in policies, procedures, and operational best practice.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Essential: 3+ years of experience, including at least 6 months of maritime experience in a junior rank onboard gas or oil tankers, or within an LNG terminal support role.
  • Essential: Understanding of hydrocarbon liquids transportation, storage, and processing, including the LNG value chain.
  • Essential: Knowledge of international and national regulations relevant to LNG vessels and terminal operations.
  • Essential: Understanding of ship-shore compatibility for LNG carriers.
  • Desirable: Experience of marine assurance systems and processes such as SIRE and USCG CoC.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of OCIMF marine assurance processes.
