Our client is seeking a Market Expert & Data Analyst with a strong passion for the energy transition to support the development of future electricity system scenarios and long-term energy outlooks across Belgium and Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, validate and challenge energy market data and future energy scenarios.
- Analyse trends in electricity demand, generation, decarbonisation and energy transition initiatives.
- Build and maintain analytical tools using Python and/or R.
- Consolidate large datasets for modelling and scenario development.
- Develop reports, presentations and stakeholder-facing materials.
- Support workshops, consultations and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Create and improve data visualisations using Power BI, R, Python, Excel or similar tools.
- Contribute to market intelligence and energy sector research.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis and modelling.
- Strong Python and/or R programming skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Proven knowledge of the Belgian and European energy markets.
- Understanding of energy transition, decarbonisation and future energy scenarios.
- Experience analysing and challenging complex datasets.
- Fluent English plus Dutch and/or French.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- VBA experience.
- Electricity market modelling experience.
- ANTARES or other power system simulation tools.
- Power BI, QGIS or advanced data visualisation expertise.
- Experience supporting industry consultations or scenario-building exercises.
