This opportunity supports offshore survey and subsurface characterisation work within the marine infrastructure and offshore energy sector. The role focuses on near real-time multibeam data processing for a USV survey campaign, with responsibility for maintaining high-quality bathymetric outputs in a continuous acquisition environment. This position will suit candidates with strong MBES processing expertise, BeamWorx AutoClean capability and a quality-focused approach to remote data delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and clean MBES data in near real-time using BeamWorx AutoClean.
- Apply automated and manual cleaning techniques to maintain data quality and consistency.
- Perform quality control checks on bathymetric data and validate outputs against project specifications.
- Monitor incoming survey data streams from the USV and identify anomalies, noise and artefacts.
- Apply corrections to datasets and support continuity and completeness during 24/7 operations.
- Execute and optimise processing workflows for continuous acquisition environments.
- Adjust processing parameters according to survey conditions and data quality.
- Generate bathymetric grids, point clouds and required deliverables.
- Prepare interim and final outputs in agreed formats.
- Communicate data quality issues and provide feedback to survey and project teams.
- Coordinate handovers across distributed teams working across multiple time zones.
- Maintain processing logs, documentation and traceability of processing decisions.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as an MBES or multibeam data processor.
- Experience in bathymetric data cleaning, quality control and validation.
- Experience working in remote processing environments.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with BeamWorx AutoClean.
- Good understanding of MBES data processing workflows, including calibration, cleaning and corrections.
- Knowledge of data formats and hydrographic deliverables.
- Ability to manage large datasets efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to work independently in a remote and distributed team setup.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-oriented mindset.
- Good communication skills for handovers and issue reporting.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing workflows and shift models.
- Proactive problem-solving capability.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience with USV MBES data processing.
- Experience with sweeping surveys and/or cable route surveys.
- Additional language capability.
