Position Overview
This opportunity is suited to a technically capable professional with strong analytical skills and a solid background in oil and gas measurement. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of volumetric and compositional measurement data to support revenue allocation and business reporting. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively across operational and accounting interfaces. The role offers the chance to contribute within a structured, deadline-driven environment where regulatory compliance and data quality are essential.
Role Context
This position sits within the oil and gas sector and supports measurement activities linked to revenue allocation, balancing, and monthly close processes. The role involves working closely with measurement and accounting stakeholders to investigate discrepancies, validate data, and support timely reporting. This opportunity is based around a Monday to Friday schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is well suited to candidates experienced in technically focused, operations-linked measurement environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-close measurement activities within established deadlines and review data for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify, research, analyse, and report measurement issues, providing technical support to measurement operations.
- Compile and transfer final volumetric and compositional data to relevant business functions for allocation and reporting purposes.
- Investigate discrepancies, confirm or correct volume information, and support timely issue resolution during closing activities.
- Communicate effectively with measurement and accounting teams to resolve balance and data-related issues.
- Provide reports and data to internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and documentation requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate degree from an accredited community college or completion of a certificate programme in a related technical discipline, or relevant measurement experience in place of formal qualifications.
- At least two years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- At least two years of experience analysing and interpreting data, identifying trends, and researching variance drivers.
- At least two years of experience with FLOWCAL, TestIT, and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of gas measurement fundamentals, including orifice meter operation and the application of recognised industry standards such as AGA3, API 14.3, and GPA 8185.
- Advanced mathematical capability, accurate data entry skills, and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Preferred: three or more years of measurement experience within a midstream environment.
- Preferred: experience with electronic flow measurement systems, flow computer operation, telecommunications-based data acquisition, SCADA systems, and troubleshooting of orifice measurement systems.
