Mechanical Designer

Airswift is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join a leading engineering team supporting the development and delivery of major energy, resources, and industrial projects.
About the Role
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing facility layouts and providing technical support throughout project execution. Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors, you will contribute to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop facility layouts for studies, major capital projects, and operational improvements.
- Produce and review site layouts, plot plans, and 3D models.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical design solutions.
- Support technical assurance, risk assessments, and design reviews.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors and consultants.
- Participate in project meetings across various time zones when required.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, project requirements, and safety-in-design principles.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Associate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- Experience developing facility layouts for complex industrial or energy projects.
- Strong proficiency with 3D design software, ideally Aveva PDMS/E3D or Bentley OpenPlant.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
- Previous exposure to oil & gas, energy, resources, or process plant environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
