Mechanical Engineering Specialist
Location: Doha, Qatar
Contract Duration: 2 years (with possibility of extension)

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Please note that a Master’s Degree without a Bachelor's is not accepted for this role.
Job Purpose
Advise and support Mechanical Engineering activities during EPC and Startup phases until handover to permanent Asset. Ensure project deliverables meet Operations expectations in terms of Safety, Operability, Reliability, and Maintainability over the facility design life cycle.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Head of Engineering
Interfaces with: Project Management Team, Operations, Engineering & Projects, HSEQ, EPC contractors, vendors, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support including design reviews, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Develop work packs for maintenance-executed modifications.
- Define best practices and recommend performance improvements.
- Develop work schedules aligned with KPIs.
- Provide cross-disciplinary technical input.
- Supervise contractors and service providers.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Support project tie-ins and manage issue registers.
- Provide technical support for Management of Change processes.
- Participate in safety workshops, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.
- Active participation in Safety Workshops, Cold Eye Reviews and Value Improvement Workshops. Steward and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), scenario based risk assessments (SBRAs), risk screening and Formal Risk Assessment (FRA)
Qualifications & Experience
- Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Master’s without Bachelor's is not accepted).
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil & gas.
- Attained specialist level of competencies as per Mechanical Technical Competencies.
