Overview

We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Rolling Stock Maintainer to support the maintenance of passenger rail fleet.

You will be responsible for

providing technical support to continually improve the reliability of the fleet, including fault-finding, troubleshooting and general routine maintenance. A Mechanical trade certificate is required for this position.

Location-             Sydney, NSW

Duration-             Casual Contract (Expected up to 12 months)

Hours-                 8 hour standard roster – Morning Shifts, Afternoon Shifts, Occasional Saturday shift

Rate-                   $74hr + Penalties + OT

Responsibilities

  • Daily review of train fleet performance
  • Conduct routine inspections, fault finding and troubleshooting (mechanical, but also assisting with electrical faults when required)
  • Defect rectification
  • Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with standards and work instructions
  • Manage failure investigations and customer feedback of findings
  • Develop, review and improve technical maintenance plans and other supporting documentation
  • Documentation
  • Perform RCA of defects following release to service
  • Raise equipment non-conformance reports and provide assessments

Required Experience

  • Trade Background –Mechanical Qualification such as Mechanical Fitter / Cert III Mechanical Engineering, Diploma, Mechanical Trade
  • Prior experience in rail vehicle / Rolling Stock maintenance on heavy or light rail assets preferred, however considerable heavy plant maintenance will be considered from other sectors
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Corrective Maintenance, Root Cause analysis
  • Experience with fault-diagnostic tools
