Job Title: Mechanical Technician III
Duration: 12 months initially
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
Location: Hopkinsville, KY
This opportunity is with a refinery and chemical complex, supporting the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of critical mechanical systems and process equipment. The role offers hands-on involvement across pumps, compressors, valves, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and precision measuring equipment within a multi-level industrial environment. This position is well suited to candidates with strong industrial maintenance capability, mechanical troubleshooting expertise, and experience working safely in demanding plant conditions.
Required Education:
- High school diploma plus completion of a trade school or apprenticeship certificate or program
Required Skills:
- Ability to install, modify, maintain, inspect, repair, adjust, and align mechanical systems and process equipment independently
- Working knowledge of pumps, mechanical seals, bearings, utility system components, piping and valves, and material processing equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues
- Ability to verify, adjust, and align functional dimensions using hand tools, blueprints, diagrams, repair manuals, calipers, micrometers, scales, and alignment devices
- Ability to perform laser alignment for motors and driven machinery
- Competent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Ability to operate a forklift and other industrial mobile equipment as required
- Ability to work in a multi-level industrial environment, including work at height via ladders and steps and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs daily and up to 100 lbs periodically
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Millwright, Maintenance Mechanic, or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
