This opportunity is with a global engineering, technology and consulting organisation that supports complex product development, manufacturing process optimisation and information systems quality across an international footprint. The role offers the chance to contribute to industrial projects involving process engineering, mechanical design, mechatronics, machine control systems and equipment safety, with a strong focus on practical problem-solving and operational excellence. This company is looking for a technically capable professional who can help strengthen engineering delivery within a manufacturing and production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support engineering activities across industrial process environments, particularly within chemical, food or comparable production settings using semi-automated or automated transfer systems.
Produce and review mechanical design work, including layouts and technical drawings.
Contribute to equipment installation and assembly activities where required by the project scope.
Provide oversight of industrial building works linked to machinery installation, including light and heavy construction interfaces.
Support supervision of civil engineering works associated with equipment and machinery implementation.
Apply awareness of high- and low-voltage electrical systems when working on equipment-related engineering solutions.
Help address equipment safety requirements and CE compliance considerations within project execution.
Anticipate commissioning challenges and contribute practical, technically sound solutions during project delivery.
Work closely with supervisors and production teams to improve outcomes in manufacturing and production environments.
Contribute ideas, technical reflections and constructive challenge to proposed engineering solutions.
Must-Have Skills:
Approximately 10 years of industrial experience.
Strong background in process engineering, ideally within the chemical or food industry, or in production process industries using semi-automated or automated transfer systems.
Proven mechanical design capability, including layouts and technical drawings.
Experience within a design or engineering office environment.
Maintenance experience within industrial operations.
Knowledge of machine control systems.
Basic knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems.
Understanding of equipment safety and CE compliance.
Strong analytical skills and constructive critical-thinking ability.
Ability to anticipate and understand equipment commissioning challenges.
Strong team-working capability and effective collaboration with supervisors and production personnel.
Commitment to safety as a core working priority.
Practical approach to engineering, combining technical judgement with common sense.
Interest in manufacturing, production and project management.
Nice-to-Have:
Mechatronics experience or knowledge (Preferred).
Experience supervising light and heavy industrial building construction (Preferred).
Experience supervising civil engineering works related to machinery installations (Preferred).
Background in an SME operating within a larger group structure (Preferred).
Previous experience in cost-conscious environments with tighter margins (Preferred).
Interest in improving ways of working and healthy competition (Preferred).
