The Project
As part of a major international Oil & Gas development project, we are seeking an experienced OCTAVE Forte 3D (Hexagon Smart 3D) Administrator to support the Qatar NFW project and ensure the administration, configuration, and optimization of the Smart 3D environment used by engineering teams. Based on the requirements defined in the role will focus on application administration, configuration management, and support of engineering data workflows.
You will join a multicultural and internationally distributed engineering organization, working closely with Smart 3D administrators and project teams across multiple engineering centers worldwide.
The Role
As an OCTAVE Forte 3D (Hexagon Smart 3D) Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Smart 3D environment, management of collaborative worksharing processes, and development of project-specific customizations.
You will play a key role in supporting engineering teams, maintaining project catalogs and libraries, developing customized functionalities, and ensuring compliance with project standards and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
OCTAVE Forte 3D Administration
- Administer and maintain the OCTAVE Forte 3D / Hexagon Smart 3D environment.
- Manage user access rights and permissions.
- Perform application and database administration activities.
- Ensure system availability, reliability, and performance.
Collaboration & Worksharing Management
- Manage replication processes using Global Workshare.
- Coordinate engineering data exchanges between international engineering centers.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across project environments.
- Support collaborative workflows and resolve worksharing issues.
Configuration & Development
- Configure and maintain project catalogs.
- Develop custom commands and application enhancements.
- Create and maintain piping support libraries.
- Develop project reports and data extraction tools as required
Quality Assurance & Technical Support
- Ensure compliance with project procedures, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical support to engineering users.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high-quality documentation and deliverables in accordance with project requirements

Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional specialization in engineering design systems or industrial software platforms is a plus.
Experience
- Proven experience as an OCTAVE Forte 3D or Hexagon Smart 3D Administrator.
- Experience supporting EPC projects within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or Process Industries sectors.
- Experience working within international and multicultural project teams.
- Strong understanding of engineering data management environments.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in OCTAVE Forte 3D / Hexagon Smart 3D administration and configuration.
- Experience with application setup, customization, and database administration.
- Knowledge of Global Workshare environments.
- Ability to develop custom commands and project-specific enhancements.
- Experience configuring catalogs and support libraries.
- Strong reporting and data extraction capabilities.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
