Position Overview
Our agency is recruiting for an Offshore Measurement Tech IV on behalf of a third-party company operating within the oil and gas sector. This Offshore Measurement Tech IV opportunity is suited to a technically strong professional responsible for the measurement of physical quantities in offshore environments, with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and consistency. The Offshore Measurement Tech IV will work alongside engineers, technicians, and other professionals in a role that supports critical measurement and allocation activities. This Offshore Measurement Tech IV position offers the chance to contribute to technically demanding offshore operations within a major energy business.
Role Context
This role sits within the oil and gas industry and involves offshore working conditions around heavy equipment and in variable environmental conditions. The successful candidate will be part of a wider technical team that includes engineers and technicians, supporting measurement activities linked to oil and natural gas systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out measurement activities to ensure physical quantities are accurate, reliable, and consistent.
- Support allocation and custody transfer measurement systems within oil and gas operations.
- Apply knowledge of regulatory requirements for LACT meter proving, sales gas meter calibration, and oil and gas sampling for custody transfer.
- Apply knowledge of regulatory requirements for liquid and gas meter operation, calibration, and oil and gas sampling for allocation.
- Troubleshoot and test single-phase metering equipment, including positive displacement, helical turbine, orifice, and v-cone systems for oil and natural gas applications.
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other professionals to maintain measurement quality and operational performance.
- Travel to and work on offshore locations while operating safely around heavy equipment and in changing environmental conditions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: Minimum 2 years of experience or training in oil and gas allocation and custody transfer measurement systems.
- Essential: Knowledge of regulatory requirements for LACT meter proving, sales gas meter calibration, and oil and gas sampling for custody transfer.
- Essential: Knowledge of regulatory requirements for liquid and gas meter operation, calibration, and oil and gas sampling for allocation.
- Essential: Knowledge of single-phase metering by positive displacement, helical turbine, orifice, and v-cone, including troubleshooting and equipment testing procedures.
- Essential: Ability to travel and work on offshore locations, around heavy equipment, and in variable environmental conditions.
- Essential: High school diploma or equivalent.
