Airswift is searching for an Offshore SURF Surveyor to join a major deepwater offshore development project in Suriname, supporting the installation and survey operations of subsea pipelines and structures in one of the region's most significant offshore energy developments.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced offshore survey professional with a strong background in SURF operations, marine positioning systems, acoustic navigation technologies (USBL/LBL), and subsea installation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor offshore survey activities onboard installation vessels.
- Review positioning, navigation, and survey data to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Validate survey contractor deliverables, field reports, and as-built documentation.
- Support the quality control of survey operations and data acquisition processes.
- Liaise between offshore contractors and project representatives on survey-related matters.
- Verify calibration and performance of navigation and positioning equipment.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong offshore safety culture.
Requirements
- Degree in Hydrography, Topography, Survey Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience supporting offshore oil & gas installation projects, ideally deepwater developments.
- Strong expertise with:
- Acoustic positioning systems (USBL / LBL)
- Marine survey and navigation systems
- Metrology and offshore positioning
- Survey sensors and multibeam technologies
- Experience onboard Rigid Lay Vessels, PLSVs, OSR vessels, or similar offshore construction assets.
- Practical knowledge of:
- Rigid pipelay operations (S-Lay / J-Lay)
- Subsea structures installation
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary project teams.
