We are seeking an Operations / Facilities Engineer to support Production Operations by driving facility and well performance optimisation, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations. This role plays a key part in troubleshooting, project execution, and continuous improvement across field facilities and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Performance Management

  • Diagnose operational issues and implement effective corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Lead the design, execution, and commissioning of Non-D&C capital projects.
  • Oversee installation, operation, and optimization of production equipment, including artificial lift systems (jet pump, gas lift, rod pumps) and compression units.
  • Monitor workflows, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize field operations to reduce downtime while maintaining safety and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct forward planning to anticipate operational risks and implement preventive solutions.

Technical Engineering Support

  • Provide real-time engineering support for well sites, facilities, cryogenic plants, and compressor stations.
  • Prepare cost estimates and manage Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE).
  • Control Non-D&C Capital and LOE budgets, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, delivering sustainable technical solutions.
  • Drive facility optimization initiatives (centralized and on-pad systems).
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and industry guidelines (API, OSHA).

Compliance, Safety & Documentation

  • Lead Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Participate in or lead incident investigations (RCFA) and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and updated technical documentation, including P&IDs, C&Es, PHAs, and inspection records.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Degree from an ABET-accredited program (preferred).

Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in upstream oil & gas production or midstream operations.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas production systems and facility operations.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and their application.
  • Experience with maintenance practices and Mechanical Integrity programs.
  • Proficiency in production systems design and optimization.
  • Experience with hydraulic simulations, nodal analysis, and tools such as Excel, HYSIS, Piper, or ProMax.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex data and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects, vendors, and timelines simultaneously.
  • Communication: Strong ability to translate technical insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
